MEDIUM and method
I have sculpted most of my figures and ceramics using low-fire clay, since ca. 2014. Drawing on my theatrical background and my interest in Greek theatre, I have been particularly interested in masks and mythic creatures. Beginning in Fall 2023, I have been sculpting directly in high-fire clay and occasionally making plaster casts, such as Portrait of a Woman (2024).
Most of my figurines and ceramics are small, 8 to 9 inches tall. I either paint them using acrylic paints or glaze them and fire again. If I paint on top of the glaze, which is rare, the work cannot be fired again.
